Kindale Industries provides work and work-related training, with some educational and recreational options.
People at Kindale can choose from facility-based work options such as woodworking, sewing, packaging or product assembly, and through the Supported Employment Program, people have the option of accessing community-based work.
Non-vocational options are implemented through the Support Services Department. In the area of education and training, people can choose to develop skills in literacy, numeracy, computer skills and other opportunities designed to meet the needs and interests of each person.
Recreational programming includes swimming/aquasize and aerobics with professional instructors as well as various social activities.
Typical programming runs Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., but some variations occur depending on the individual. Transportation within Steinbach can be arranged through the Kindale office. We run a 33 passenger bus, and a handi-van vehicle with electric lift for wheelchairs. For those coming in from outside Steinbach, an alternate service is available through Manitoba Family Services.
